The Daily Herald Endorses Laura Fine
GLENVIEW, Ill. — Today, the Daily Herald endorsed Laura Fine for Congress in Illinois’ 9th Congressional District Democratic Primary. The editorial board recognized Fine’s record on health care and her ability to get things done, saying, “She works behind the noise to accomplish things.”
From the endorsement: “...our choice is State Sen. Laura Fine… an experienced legislator from Glenview who has demonstrated a remarkable ability to work with others to get things done. She displays the refreshing analytical thinking the country needs in Washington to focus on creatively solving problems rather than engaging in the beltway game of reflexive polarization.”
In a crowded field, the Daily Herald referred to Fine as “workhorse, now a showhorse” making clear that voters should consider experience, effectiveness, and results over political theatrics.
“After my husband’s accident left our family drowning in medical debt, I went to work to make sure the insurance giants couldn’t do the same to other families,” said Laura Fine. “That’s why I’m fighting for Medicare for All and I’ll continue to stand up to the bullies and the special interests in Washington.”
The Daily Herald endorsement adds to the growing momentum behind Laura Fine’s campaign, including the endorsement of the Chicago Tribune and more than 100 endorsements from local officials, community leaders, and organizations across the 9th District, showing Laura Fine to be the proven leader in the race for IL-09.
