Laura Fine’s Gains 3 Endorsements from Local Leaders in IL-9 Congressional Race
Northbrook, IL – Laura Fine’s campaign for Congress in Illinois’ 9th District announced new endorsements today from local leaders, including former Skokie Mayor George Van Dusen, Buffalo Grove Village President Eric Smith, and Buffalo Grove Trustee David Weidenfeld.
“Laura Fine has been a strong stalwart in the Illinois General Assembly for progressive values. She’s thoughtful and reliably effective,” says Mayor Van Dusen. “She will follow in the great tradition of Sidney Yates and Jan Schakowsky. We need her brand of leadership in Congress today.”
“I appreciate the endorsement of these well-respected local leaders,” Senator Fine said. “Mayor Van Dusen’s decades of service to Skokie, alongside leaders like President Smith and Trustee Weidenfeld, speak to the depth of leadership in our district. Their support, along with that of over 80 of my peers and colleagues, reflects a broad trust in my vision for the 9th District.”
Fine is one of the Senate’s most effective legislators, passing over 190 bills since first taking office in 2013. She has received recognition from nearly two dozen organizations for leadership on health care, reproductive rights, mental health, and clean energy.
