Laura Fine Releases Closing Ad
Tribune to Daniel Biss: ‘Do Better,’ Calls Out ‘Cartoonish Talking Points’
GLENVIEW, Ill. — Today, Laura Fine released her closing ad, “All,” which will run on broadcast television and digital for the remainder of the campaign.
TRANSCRIPT:
My opponents think false attacks can make me back down—they don’t know me at all.
My husband almost died in a car accident. He went through ten surgeries.
And while I held our young family together, the insurance company tried to drop us.
I took ‘em on and won.
Then, I ran for office, passing laws to protect all families.
I’m Laura Fine. I approve this message.
When it comes to stopping Trump, and passing Medicare for All, I’ll never back down.
“I’m the only candidate in this race with the experience needed to pass major legislation like Medicare for All, and I’m on a mission to make sure no family goes through what my family went through,” Laura Fine said. “The guilt-by-association attacks on me aren’t working because voters know I’ll fight for them and stand up to Trump and the toughest special interests. That’s why I’ve been named one of the most effective lawmakers in Illinois. Daniel Biss is a political weathervane that cannot be trusted in this pivotal moment our country is facing.”
Fine’s ad highlighting her story, her commitment to standing up to Trump and her mission to pass Medicare for All highlight her impressive record and the lack of substance from Daniel Biss’s campaign. With no record to run on, Biss has been reduced to guilt-by-association attacks against Fine and creating purity tests that he’s not able to pass himself.
Over the weekend, the Chicago Tribune Editorial Board wrote: “But, with less than three weeks until Election Day, we’re not satisfied with the relentless jousting over cartoonish talking points and guilt by association. And we don’t think voters should be satisfied, either…You can do better.”
