Evanston, IL — Today, Evanston’s 6th Ward Alderman Tom Suffredin endorsed State Senator Laura Fine in the race for Illinois’ 9th Congressional District.

“Laura Fine puts her constituents ahead of any personal gain, she is a true public servant. As a lifelong Evanstonian and a member of the city council, I've seen firsthand how dedicated she is to our community,” said Ald. Suffredin. “She's not afraid to stand up for what is right and fight the difficult battles on behalf of working families. Because of her leadership, commitment, and dedication to our community, I'm supporting her to become our next representative in congress.”

“I’m proud to earn the support of Alderman Suffredin and look forward to partnering with him to make our communities safer and more affordable, Senator Fine said. “Tom knows what’s keeping working families up at night. Together, we will put the needs of our communities first.” 

Ald. Suffredin’s endorsement reflects years of collaboration with Fine, including securing more than $6 million in funding for local projects. Ald. Suffredin joins other Evanston leaders who have previously endorsed Laura Fine, including former MWRD Commissioner Debra Shore and former State Senator Jeff Schoenberg.
