BISS DID THIS: Sought AIPAC support, failed, then changed his stripes
GLENVIEW, Ill. — Professional Political Candidate Daniel Biss (D-Wherever the wind blows) has taken every side of an issue to placate voters during his many runs for office: Congress, Mayor, Governor, Comptroller, State Senate and State Representative. In his recent run for Congress, he’s been so obsessed with attacking Laura Fine that it’s been hard for him to articulate what he’s actually for. The Fine Campaign is here to help. We’ll be highlighting key planks of the Biss record.
Biss Did This: Earlier this summer Daniel Biss sought the support of AIPAC and vowed in his questionnaire to the pro-Israel group to “expand” aid to Israel without conditions. Now he says he’s against a “blank check” to Israel after failing to secure the group’s support. It’s not hard to understand why the group didn’t trust him. Biss has a track record of bowing to political pressure, even dropping his own running mate during his failed bid for Governor after losing key endorsements.
Statement from a Fine Campaign Spokesperson:
“Daniel Biss isn’t running on his record because he can’t. He’s frustrated that the coronation he expected isn’t coming to fruition so he’s attacking Laura Fine for donors that he himself courted and for connections to a group whose endorsement he sought. He doesn’t even believe the words coming out of his mouth at this point. The problem isn’t so much that he’s lying—it’s how easily he does it.”
