Fine announces more than 70 endorsements in bid for Congress
State Legislators Laura Murphy, Tracy Katz Muhl, Julie Morrison join over 70 Democratic leaders to endorse Laura Fine for Congress
Diverse coalition of leaders praise Fine for leading critical fights for insurance reform, affordable health care, and reproductive rights.
Northbrook, IL – Over seventy Democratic leaders from across Illinois have endorsed State Senator Laura Fine for the Democratic nomination for Congress in the 9th District.
Fine’s experience fighting on behalf of people in Illinois has helped her earn more endorsements than any other candidate in the race. Public servants from across the district know Laura Fine’s record, and they trust her to go to battle for us.
“Our values are under an unprecedented attack,” said State Representative Tracy Katz Muhl. “Laura Fine is battle-tested. She has taken on insurance middlemen and industrial polluters on our behalf, and she’s gotten results. Laura Fine knows how to win the election fights we are facing in Washington right now.”
“Every day, we see another story — more handouts to the wealthy, more special treatment for the powerful, more attacks on our most vulnerable,” said State Senator Laura Murphy. “Laura Fine has fought and won these battles. Her intelligence, toughness, and compassion will serve us well in Congress.
“I’m honored to have the support of so many trusted leaders across Illinois,” said Fine. “They know my track record—taking on the tough fights; passing the strongest consumer protection laws in the country, expanding access to mental health care, and fighting for affordable, high-quality health coverage.”
“We face people in Washington who have already given away billions to wealthy special interests. Those who have broken our government and brought great harm to the people and the reputation of our country. And who will not stop until they’ve remade the United States in their own warped, sinister image. I will never stand quietly by and let that happen.”
Fine’s long list of supporters includes State Senators and Representatives, County Commissioners, and local and retired elected officials who have worked alongside her. Her legislative accomplishments—including some of the strongest health insurance reforms in the nation—have earned her the trust of allies who know she delivers.
