Senator Fine Files Petitions, Emphasizing Experience, Integrity, and Results
Glenview, IL – State Senator Laura Fine today filed petitions to officially appear on the ballot for Illinois’ 9th Congressional District.
Fine’s campaign collected thousands of signatures from across the 9th district, from Uptown to Evanston to Glenview to Crystal Lake, nearly tripling the required number in a show of strong community support for Senator Fine’s place on the ballot.
A State Senator and former State Representative from Glenview, Fine began her public service career after a car accident left her family fighting an insurance system that puts profit ahead of people. That experience set her on a path to reform, and results.
In Springfield, she has authored and passed over 100 bills, including some of the toughest insurance and consumer protection laws in the nation, expanded access to mental health care, and championed legislation supporting paid leave, reproductive freedom, and workers’ rights.
“Every signature represents someone who believes that Washington needs leaders who will stand up to corporate special interests and deliver for working families,” Senator Fine said. “That’s what I’ve done in Illinois, and that’s exactly what I’ll do in Congress.”
Her campaign has already earned more than 80 endorsements from colleagues, local mayors, and community leaders. Many of whom have worked alongside Senator Fine and witnessed her results-driven approach firsthand.
“We’ve built this campaign the same way I’ve always served: by earning people’s trust, one conversation at a time,” Senator Fine said.
As the campaign enters its next phase, Fine will continue focusing on meeting voters where they are – in neighborhoods, small businesses, and community spaces across the district – to talk about real solutions that make life more affordable, more secure, and more fair for Illinois families.
